Who knew these carnies would concoct a cover so clever? Answer: The Minus World. To all those balloon pilots out there you are officially on high alert. After some research into the back story of these unnamed aerial bandits as to what exactly funded the development of a game based on battling balloons, I found this single image. Proof, at long last, of the secret behind the legend.
To make matters worse, the balloon pilots had the streets on the way to all the Dead shows lined with phony lemonade stands run by flightless birds that they used as fronts to sell the whippets. And for an extra $5 you could ask for the special “Codenamed: Balloon Trip” which involved dipping the end of the balloon in liquid acid. Guess they knew that no one would enjoy The Grateful Dead sober so they took the role of salesmen and banked during their short-lived operation. We got you, you tiny bastards!

if one wanted to smuggle these balloons onto an airplane would they have to swallow a balloon full of balloons? wait…what? Sorry, I just zoned out to a 52 minute Phish jam sesh.
